Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. seeks a Lead Enterprise IT Systems Architect to serve as the sole architectural authority for a major Department of War program.

You will own the enterprise technical vision and are responsible for designing, integrating, modernizing, and governing all systems across the program. The role requires defining architectural standards, ensuring mission alignment, and driving secure, automated, and scalable solutions across all technology domains.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI security clearance with CI Polygraph (required).
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 10+ years’ experience with 5+ years of specialized design experience with large-scale enterprise IT services, cloud-native computing/adoption, system architecture, and DevSecOps.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the single enterprise architect for the program, establishing and governing architecture standards and technical direction.
• Develop and maintain enterprise architectures aligned with mission and operational requirements.
• Architect and optimize solutions across Citrix VDI, AD/Azure AD/Exchange, NetApp, UC platforms, Windows Server and RHEL.
• Lead automation and orchestration using IaC, CI/CD pipelines, and configuration management tools.
• Design secure, scalable architectures across on-prem, cloud, hybrid, and classified environments.
• Ensure compliance with RMF, NIST controls, STIGs, Zero Trust, and DoW cybersecurity requirements.
• Produce enterprise roadmaps, transition plans, and authoritative architecture deliverables.
• Collaborate with government leadership and engineering teams to guide architecture decisions.
