Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to develop test/data algorithms and define system performance requirements. You will lead cross-functional teams to design, test, and deploy complex software systems in a DoD-like environment.

Applicants should have 7–10+ years of building and fielding products, strong math/communication skills, and experience with SysML/UML, DOORS, and data visualization. On-site with hybrid flexibility and travel up to 10% are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, CS, mathematics, physics, or STEM field, or equivalent experience.
• 7–10+ years building, testing, and fielding products.
• Ability to translate requirements into viable technical solutions.
• Strong math and communication skills to understand user needs.
• Knowledge of Systems/Software Engineering best practices.
• Experience designing/testing large, complex SW systems (DoD/ distributed).
• Experience with data visualization and data reduction techniques.
• Proficiency with requirements tools (e.g. DOORS).
• Ability to work on-site with potential hybrid flexibility and travel ~10%.

Responsibilities

• Develop test/data algorithms to reduce instrumentation and data streams into meaningful system metrics.
• Evaluate customer/operational needs to define performance requirements and ensure interface compatibility.
• Apply advanced systems/software technologies to craft innovative solutions for in-service and next-gen complex systems.
• Lead interdisciplinary teams to rapidly define, design, develop, integrate, and deploy test systems.
• Analyze and decompose requirements; craft test cases, procedures, and plans; troubleshoot discrepancies.
• Perform analyses to optimize total system of systems and system architecture.
• Assess operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, requirements, and proposed solutions.
• Determine SysML model implementation for SE designs.
• Communicate with customers/users to understand needs and drive cross-functional issues to closure.
