Job summary

Jobtailor in Arlington, VA is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to develop test/data algorithms, architect system-of-systems, and define performance requirements across interfaces. You will work on-site with potential hybrid flexibility and travel up to 10%.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create innovative solutions for in-service and next-generation software systems, translating user needs into viable technical approaches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, maths, physics, or equivalent full-time professional experience.
• 3-5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience defining new solutions with new and existing technologies, creating loosely coupled system solutions which promote rapid evolution and re-deployment.
• Ability and interest in the logical, systematic conversion of program requirements into viable technical solutions.
• Mathematical and communication skills to understand what system users and testers need to make decisions and do assessments rapidly and accurately.
• Understanding of System Engineering and Software Engineering best practices. Ability to communicate with customer Subject Matter Experts and understand their processes and designs.
• Ability to apply analysis to systems, data, and processes to determine if exhibited Behavior is expected.
• Understanding of the activities described by the Systems Engineering V-Model.
• Ability to work on-site with potential hybrid flexibility; travel ~10%.

Responsibilities

• Develop test/data algorithms to quantify system actions, behaviors, and outcomes.
• Architect System-of-System solutions from integration technologies to address evolving problems.
• Evaluate customer needs to define performance requirements and ensure interface compatibility.
• Apply advanced systems/software tech to develop innovative in-service and next-gen software solutions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design and deploy tactical test systems.
• Analyze to optimize system-of-systems and architectures.
• Determine feasibility by evaluating analysis, requirements and proposed solutions.
• Communicate with customers to understand needs and drive issues to closure.
