Job summary

Divergent in Torrance, CA is seeking a Software Architect to lead design and architecture for the Robotics & AI Software Team. You will define system-level designs spanning real-time robotics control, planning/optimization, and generative AI — with deep expertise in C++ and Python, end-to-end GUI development, and deployment at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Robotics, AI/ML, or related field with 5+ years of experience.
• Expert in modern C++ (C++17+) and Python with real-time, multithreaded design.
• End-to-end GUI, CI/CD, containerization, and production-grade delivery.

Responsibilities

• Own system architecture for multithreaded C++ and Python apps across robotics control and AI pipelines.
• Architect end-to-end solutions: GUIs, diagnostics, monitoring, simulation, calibration, fault detection.
• Design scalable integrations with ROS/ROS2, MoveIt, sensors, and manufacturing systems.
• Define architecture for planning/optimization and generative AI systems; lead CI/CD and testing standards.
• Mentor teams and collaborate with controls, electrical, mechanical, systems, and product functions.
