Job summary

Curri in the United States seeks a Staff Software Engineer to join the Technology team as a technical leader who shapes how we build at scale. You’ll review architectures, unblock teams, and mentor engineers while continuing to write production code.

You will influence cross-team technical direction, drive reliability and scalability, and leverage AI tools like Claude Code and Cursor to raise the bar for delivery. This role offers remote-friendly options with HQ in Ventura, CA.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience building production software.
• Experience owning architecture and technical direction beyond a single team or project.
• Strong backend depth in TypeScript/Node.js and databases (Postgres/Redis/NATS).
• Credible UI knowledge (React/React Native) for architecture reviews.
• Fluency with AI-paired delivery and mentoring others on its use.

Responsibilities

• Architect and guide scalable, long-lasting systems across multiple projects.
• Lead architecture reviews and design discussions to provide technical judgment.
• Unblock engineers, debug hard issues, and clear paths when teams are stuck.
• Stay hands-on and ship production code with AI-assisted tooling.
• Mentor engineers at all levels and help them grow into leaders.
• Identify systemic risks and cross-team debt, driving fixes.
• Translate business priorities into technical roadmaps with leadership partners.
