Job summary

HP in Spring, TX seeks a Senior Electrical Hardware Engineer to lead multiple project teams and oversee the complete process of product design and development.

You will ensure designs comply with technology guidelines, provide leadership across cross-functional teams, and drive innovation and new technologies in complex hardware projects. Mentorship and cost/planning responsibilities are included.

Qualifications

  • Four-year or Graduate Degree in Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 10 years of work experience in electrical design and related fields.

Responsibilities

  • Leads multiple project teams of electrical hardware engineers and partners for all stages of electrical hardware design and development.
  • Conducts part qualification processes through product quality plans, inspections, and manufacturing qualifications.
  • Expands relationships with internal and outsourced partners on hardware design and development.
  • Reviews designs for compliance with guidelines and standards; provides feedback to improve quality.
  • Identifies trends and opportunities to optimize product output, quality, and cost of delivery.
  • Provides domain expertise and leadership across cross-organization projects and activities.
  • Develops cost estimates, business cases, and plans for hardware projects.
  • Leads delivery of professional reports and supports strategic plans.
  • Drives innovation and integration of new technologies in electrical hardware projects.
  • Mentors less-experienced staff to model excellence in hardware design and development.

The role applies advanced subject matter knowledge to provide perspective to cross-organization projects, drive innovation and integrate new technologies into projects.

Responsibilities

  • Leads multiple project teams of other electrical hardware engineers and internal and outsourced development partners responsible for all stages of electrical hardware design and development for complex products, solutions, and platforms
  • Conducts part qualification processes through implementation of product quality plans, equipment inspections, factory witness testing, and manufacturing process qualifications.
  • Expands relationships with internal and outsourced development partners on electrical hardware design and development.
  • Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with technology and development guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality.
  • Identify trends and opportunities for optimizing product product/solution output, quality enhancements and cost of delivery.
  • Provides domain-specific expertise and overall electrical/electronic hardware and platform leadership and perspective to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities.
  • Develops cost estimates, business cases, appropriation requests and plans for electrical/hardware engineering projects.
  • Leads delivery professionally written reports, and supports realization of operational and strategic plans.
  • Drives innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities in the electrical hardware design organization.
  • Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members to set an example of electrical hardware design and development, innovation, and excellence.

Education & Experience Recommended

  • Four-year or Graduate Degree in Electrical Engineering, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
  • 10 years of work experience, preferably in electrical design and tools, software packages, architecture of electronic hardware, or a related field.

The pay range for this role is $147,050 to $230,850 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
