• This role is responsible for shaping the long-term vision and strategy for engineering product design and development.
• The role encompasses developing comprehensive technology roadmaps for intricate products, platforms, systems, and software and fostering innovation.
• The role remains attuned to industry trends, guiding organizational transformation to meet future demands.
• The role actively collaborates with diverse stakeholders, empowering teams, and ensuring strategic alignment to achieve developmental objectives.

Responsibilities

• Leverages recognized technical and business expertise to define long-term vision and strategy for engineering product design and development across multiple feature areas and divisional boundaries.
• Develops technology roadmaps for complex products, platforms, systems, software, and technology across multiple engineering disciplines, platforms; identifies gaps and solutions for future growth.
• Communicates strategy and technology roadmaps to executive staff, industry partners and customers.
• Maintains knowledge of industry trends, defining and driving transformation steps in the organization needed in the field to meet future demands.
• Provides innovative solutions and integrates advanced technologies, theories, or techniques with a significant impact across disciplines, championing large projects for long-range goals.
• Provides consultation, design input, and feedback for new product development and design reviews across multiple organizations and architectures.
• Works closely with product management, engineering stakeholders from related departments and empower the teams to deliver outstanding and impactful results, while ensuring strategic alignment to achieve developmental goals.
• Initiates industry-leading research and development, serving as a recognized lead authority internally and externally.
• Provides mentoring and guidance to less-experienced staff members to set an example of engineering design innovation and excellence.
• Participates in and provides input on process for selection of future technical leaders.

Education & Experience

• Four-year or Graduate Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
• Typically has 12+ years of work experience, preferably in engineering design, engineering design tools and software packages, or a related field.
