Job summary

MidAmerican Energy Company is seeking a Senior Systems and Development Analyst to analyze business applications, develop specifications, and implement engineering and business software solutions. Responsibilities include supporting vendor apps, web and client/server packages, and guiding other analysts as needed.

The role requires strong database and programming knowledge (Oracle/Microsoft SQL, .NET) and experience with change/release management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in MIS, CS or related field or equivalent experience.
• Six+ years in systems analysis or software development.
• Advanced knowledge: client/server, mainframe or web development.
• Advanced knowledge of relational database technology.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize work; on-call availability.
• Experience integrating COTS with change/release processes.
• Oracle and SQL database development experience; .NET and other languages.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support; apply patches and upgrades for vendor apps.
• Support client/server packages, thick/thin clients, and web apps.
• Research and develop/modify applications; liaise with vendors.
• Provide technical leadership or guide other analysts as needed.
• Design, code, test, document, implement and maintain moderately complex apps.
• Provide customer support for package software and interfaces.
• Consult with users to assess feasibility, cost and time for changes.
• Analyze strategies across corporate functions; perform basic analysis.
• Handle critical development issues; guide other analysts on projects.
• Contribute to project planning with technical input; perform other duties.
