Job summary

VTG is seeking a skilled Systems Administrator to manage, maintain, and support enterprise IT infrastructure in Chantilly. You will ensure reliability, security, and performance of servers, networks, and systems while supporting day-to-day operations and long-term IT initiatives.

The role involves installing and configuring servers, monitoring performance and security, managing AD/DNS/DHCP, virtualization, and automation using PowerShell, Bash, and Python, with a strong emphasis on compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in systems administration or IT operations.
• Strong experience with Windows and/or Linux server environments.
• Experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs).
• Experience with system monitoring tools and log management.
• Proficiency in scripting or automation (PowerShell, Bash, Python).

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems, and enterprise applications.
• Monitor system performance, availability, and security across environments.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls (Active Directory, IAM).
• Perform system patching, updates, and vulnerability remediation.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues across infrastructure.
• Support backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes.
• Maintain system documentation, configurations, and SOPs.
• Collaborate with network engineers, security teams, and developers to support infrastructure needs.
• Automate routine tasks using scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
• Ensure systems comply with security policies and regulatory requirements.
