Job summary

AnaVation, LLC in Reston, VA is seeking a Sr Systems Administrator to join our mission-critical team and support our key customer. The role focuses on planning, designing, and implementing infrastructure changes and handling complex VMware environments, Active Directory, GPO, and multi-OS administration.

Ideal candidates will have TS/SCI with Polygraph, a Bachelor's degree with 8 years of related experience, and a current Security+ or equivalent IAT Level II certification.

Qualifications

• Clearance: Active TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph.
• Education & Years of Experience: Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of experience related to the functional area.
• Certifications: Current active CompTIA Security+ certification or equivalent IAT Level II.
• Required Experience and Knowledge: Ability to write scripts using PowerShell and/or Bash.
• Required Experience and Knowledge: Experience managing VMware, Nutanix, and other enterprise‑level virtual infrastructures.
• Required Experience and Knowledge: Proficient in managing and troubleshooting Active Directory and Group Policy Objects (GPO).

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and implement infrastructure changes and system upgrades.
• Manage and troubleshoot multiple VMware environments.
• Provide Windows Server and Linux administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Create STIG compliant images for Windows Desktop, Windows Server, and Linux OS.
• Create, test, and deploy software packages using SCCM, PDQ, etc.
• Provide expert‑level support and mentoring for mid and junior System Administrator personnel.
• Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures for system and software changes.
• Utilize scripting to automate common tasks.
• Perform hardware maintenance/repair activities.
• Ensure proper planning and execution of major projects/maintenance activities.
• Provide advanced level administration and troubleshooting of Active Directory, GPO, DNS, DHCP, and Domain Controllers.
