Job summary

San Diego State University seeks an experienced Systems Administrator IV to provide senior technical leadership for the university’s enterprise infrastructure, powering academic, research, and business operations. You’ll design and support complex on‑premises and cloud environments, lead infrastructure projects, and ensure systems remain secure, reliable, and scalable.

Qualifications

• Experience with enterprise server infrastructure and administration.
• Experience with Windows and/or Linux server environments.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and services.
• Scripting using PowerShell, Bash or Python.
• Ability to lead projects and mentor staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, configuration, and optimization of complex enterprise systems across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Administer server platforms, directory services, virtualization, operating systems, and related infrastructure.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend scalable solutions for performance, security, and reliability.
• Serve as a senior technical advisor on architecture and system integrations.
• Maintain enterprise system configurations, patching, monitoring, backups, and recovery; automate processes.
