Job summary

A&M Technologies, Inc. in Suitland, MD is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator III to join the O&M team, supporting a high-availability federal environment.

The role requires TS/SCI clearance, DoD 8140/8570 certification, and extensive experience with Windows, RHEL, VMware, storage, and disaster recovery; you will lead troubleshooting, mentor staff, and contribute to modernization.

On-site, with strong emphasis on documentation, compliance, and after-hours support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT or a related field.
• 8+ years of Systems Administration experience.
• Active Top Secret clearance.
• DoD 8140/8570 compliant certification (Security+ CE or equivalent).
• Experience with Windows Server 2016/2019/2022.
• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
• Experience with VMware infrastructure.
• Experience with enterprise storage (NetApp, etc.).
• Patch management and vulnerability remediation.
• Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy experience.
• Ability to create technical documentation and runbooks.
• Strong troubleshooting across Windows, Linux, virtualization, and enterprise infra.
• On-call operations and after-hours maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Administer Windows and RHEL server environments.
• Install, configure, harden, and lifecycle-manage enterprise infrastructure.
• Support VMware virtualization including VCF and VDI.
• Support Cisco HyperFlex and storage platforms like NetApp.
• Perform patching, vulnerability remediation, and hardening per DoD rules.
• Maintain Active Directory, GPO, DNS, DHCP, certificate services.
• Support backup, DR, and COOP planning.
• Root-cause analysis for production incidents and advanced troubleshooting.
• Maintain Citrix infrastructure and other platforms.
• Support SolarWinds and other monitoring solutions.
• Produce SOPs, Runbooks, diagrams, capacity plans, and DR docs.
• Evaluate emerging tech and develop PoCs for government review.
• Participate in CCB activities and infrastructure upgrades.
• Coordinate migrations and modernization efforts.
• Assist Help Desk escalations and on-call rotations.
• Provide after-hours support for Priority 1 outages with 2-hour response.
