Job summary

Kaiva Tech, LLC is seeking a Systems Administrator in Rockville/Silver Spring, Maryland, with a hybrid, mostly remote work setup. The role supports FDA.gov web infrastructure, including a Drupal CMS on LAMP stack, and critical IT operations for a high-traffic public site.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in systems administration, strong Linux and search platform experience, and familiarity with Akamai CDN and Acquia Drupal hosting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of related experience in systems administration or IT operations.
• Experience with Linux, SOLR search, and ElasticSearch, including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Experience with Akamai CDN services and Drupal website hosting platforms (e.g., Acquia) is desired.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems and cloud services hosted in AWS. Primary systems include Drupal CMS hosted on a LAMP stack.
• Manage and maintain IT system infrastructure, services, and processes related to client, server, storage, network devices and mobile devices.
• Perform help desk support, including problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.
• Analyze and resolve complex problems associated with server hosts, applications and software integration
• Optimize system operations and resource utilization; perform capacity analysis and system planning.
• Troubleshoot and maintain system integrity and network components.
• Provide detailed analysis and feedback to management and internal customers on escalated issues.
