Job summary

Hammond Lumber Company seeks a Full-Time Systems Administrator for our Belgrade, Maine location. You will install, configure, and support IT infrastructure, including servers, firewalls, switches, and other devices, while adhering to policies and best practices.

The role requires 6+ years of IT experience, familiarity with O365, Windows Server, VMware ESX, Azure, Intune, and SQL Server, and a strong customer-focused approach with problem-solving skills. Travel and after-hours work may be needed.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in IT maintenance and technical support.
• Associate degree (or higher) preferred.
• Experience managing and supporting enterprise technology solutions.
• Experience with O365, Windows Server, VMware ESX, Azure, Intune, and SQL Server.
• Strong understanding of Firewall, WAN, LAN, and WLAN technologies.
• Asset management, deploying, implementing, and managing 3rd party antivirus/anti-malware software.
• Experience with scripting languages.
• Knowledge of Cybersecurity and FortiGate preferred.
• Ability to travel to other sites and work after hours when needed.
• Strong customer focus and commitment to customer satisfaction through prioritization, quality, efficiency, and professionalism.
• Apply critical thinking skills to solve business problems.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and support IT Infrastructure including servers, firewalls, switches and other devices.
• Adhere to IT policies and best practices, providing strategic recommendations.
• Maintain systems including customization, configuration, patching, installation, and testing.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software errors and coordinate with IT team and vendors.
• Create and maintain documentation of systems, problems and solutions.
• Monitor system and application alerts; respond to resolve issues.
• Perform backup operations and data protection/disaster recovery processes.
• Provide support of assigned systems through troubleshooting and resolving hardware/software, and connectivity problems.
• Collaborate with IT staff to ensure communication on issues.
