Job summary
Motus Recruiting and Staffing, Inc. is assisting a leading Pacific Northwest utility provider in Vancouver, WA, by seeking a Sr. System Administrator.
The role focuses on operational infrastructure for Control Center systems, including virtualization, Windows server maintenance, vulnerability assessments, and compliance with NERC-CIP standards. This onsite, one-year renewable contract covers hardware lifecycle support, change control, incident response, and documentation of procedures, with
Qualifications
- Degree preferred in Computer Science or related field.
- 8 years experience with Associate/Bachelor degree, or 10 years without degree.
- Direct IT system administration experience required.
- Experience includes a mix of work-related and on-the-job training.
Responsibilities
- Configure software and systems, maintain local docs, and plan for growth.
- Administer servers and perform vulnerability assessments and remediation.
- Implement access control models (least privilege, RBAC).
- Support virtualization (VMware vSphere) and network virtualization (NSX, ACI).
- Maintain Windows infrastructure with AD, GPO, PowerShell; manage help desk issues.
- Develop procedures for server/workstation deployment; document changes.
