Job summary

TekSynap is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to manage cloud-native infra and Amazon Connect workloads. You will administer Linux systems in GovCloud, implement security controls, and contribute to CI/CD and DevSecOps practices.

The role requires active security clearance, 7+ years of Linux admin experience, and 3+ years in AWS GovCloud with Connect integrations. This 100% remote position supports nationwide federal projects.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Administer and support cloud-native infrastructure powering telecommunication systems, especially AWS Connect/Amazon Connect.
• Perform day-to-day Linux system administration in AWS GovCloud.
• Manage telephony workloads and services within AWS Connect with high availability and security.
• Monitor performance with CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and Splunk; diagnose and resolve issues to maintain uptime.
• Implement system hardening, IAM roles, VPCs, security groups, and MFA per security standards.
• Use IaC tools like CloudFormation, Ansible, or Terraform to automate provisioning.
• Support secure data backup/recovery per federal requirements.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices.
• Participate in SAFe Agile ceremonies.
• Serve on on-call rotation for incident response.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Administer and support cloud-native infrastructure powering telecommunication systems, with a strong focus on AWS-hosted services, including AWS Connect/Amazon Connect Customer, EC2, and S3.
• Perform day-to-day system administration tasks within AWS GovCloud, including provisioning, configuring, monitoring, and patching Linux-based virtual machines.
• Manage telephony workloads and services within AWS Connect, ensuring high availability, security, and performance for mission-critical communication.
• Monitor cloud system performance using CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and Splunk, diagnosing and resolving infrastructure issues to maintain 24/7 uptime.
• Implement and maintain system hardening, encryption, IAM roles, network policies (VPC, security groups), and multi-factor authentication to comply with security standards.
• Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as AWS CloudFormation, Ansible, or Terraform to automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration.
• Support secure data backup/recovery processes for cloud environments, aligning with federal continuity and audit requirements.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices in collaboration with cloud developers.
• Participate in SAFe Agile ceremonies, including planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and system demos.
• Serve in an on-call rotation, ensuring rapid response to service-impacting incidents in telecommunication systems.

Required Skills and Experience

• At least 3 years of AWS cloud infrastructure experience, preferably within GovCloud or similar secure environments.
• Deep understanding of Amazon Connect Customer/AWS Connect operations, call flow configuration, contact lens integration, and AWS Lex/Lambda integration.
• Active Secret Clearance

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience implementing and managing AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), CloudWatch, S3, EC2, and CloudFormation.
• Familiarity with networking concepts in cloud environments including VPC, routing tables, security groups, and load balancing.
• Hands‑on experience automating cloud infrastructure using Ansible, Terraform, or CloudFormation.
• Knowledge of cloud security best practices, including NIST 800‑53 and FedRAMP‑aligned controls.
• Experience working in SAFe Agile environments using JIRA and Confluence.

WAGE INFORMATION

Target salary range: $95,000.00 - $110,000.00. The salary range displayed is an estimate only and is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, and will be determined on several factors regarding the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies and experience, as well as contract parameters and organizational requirements. The displayed salary is one component of the total compensation package for employees.
