Job description

As a Senior Systems Administrator, the individual will be responsible for configuring, maintaining, and operating computer systems and servers. In this role, the Systems Administrator will install hardware and software and participate in research and development. In addition, the individual must work proactively to perform the duties necessary to mitigate service disruptions by responding to outages and promptly resolving problems.

(This role requires on-site presence 5 days a week in Quantico, VA)

Responsibilities:

• Operate and support computer systems and peripherals for a large-scale government operation providing IT services to multiple agency tenant organizations.
• Manage virtualized environments, SANs/NAS devices, desktop services, and supporting technologies.
• Participate in planning, implementation, and support of operating systems and systems software.
• Coordinate with Contractor and Government personnel, and liaise with equipment and software vendors.
• Create and prepare technical presentations and documentation.
• Perform additional tasks as required by OSC and the contacting office.

Required Qualifications, Education, and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferably in IT, Information Management, or Cyber Security.
• Maintain Secret personnel clearance; eligibility for Top-Secret clearance.
• DoD 8570 IAT-II / IAM-II certification, Security+ or higher.
• VMware certification or Microsoft Certified Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate/AZ800 certification, or equivalent MCSE certification.
• Experience with VMware.
• At least ten (10) years of progressive experience in operating computer systems.
• Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a 24/7 military or government IT environment.
• Experience in engineering data center environments.
• Extensive experience with virtualization, hyperconverged infrastructure, backup/recovery, desktop services, and supporting technologies.
• Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service across organizational levels.
• Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, DoD PKI, and group policy management.
