Job summary

The County of El Paso is seeking a Systems Administration Supervisor to lead the stability and efficiency of in-house information systems supporting core operations. You will resolve issues, deploy enterprise systems, and drive datacenter technologies.

You will supervise staff, manage budgets, and partner with network, application, and database teams to ensure availability and security while aligning with business objectives and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Computer Engineering or related field and five (5) years of systems administration experience; with one (1) year in supervisory or managerial role.
• Must have or obtain by date of hire a valid driver’s license with driving record acceptable to the County of El Paso.
• MCSE or VCP or both, or equivalent certifications.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge through certification or training.

Responsibilities

• Apply systems analysis techniques and consult with users to determine specs for hardware, software or system functions.
• Design, develop, test, document and modify computer systems based on user requirements.
• Ensure security and integrity of enterprise data across databases and transfers.
• Conduct cost-benefit analyses to guide implementation decisions.
• Research software and systems products to justify recommendations and purchases.
• Coordinate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors for products and services.
• Collaborate with network staff to ensure reliable operation of software and systems.
