Generac Home is seeking a Senior System Validation and Automation Engineer in the Waukesha, WI office to own system-level validation for power electronics, energy storage, and connected energy products. You will blend hands-on electrical testing with Python-based automation to assess performance, uncover defects, and improve test coverage and repeatability.

You will work closely with hardware and firmware teams to investigate complex behavior and provide clear evidence to support product

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of validation or testing experience in power electronics, energy storage, or embedded electrical systems.
• Proficiency in Python for test automation and data analysis.
• Hands-on troubleshooting of electrical hardware and interpreting schematics.

Mansioni

• Lead system validation for products and releases, owning test planning, execution, reporting, and completion.
• Translate requirements and risks into validation plans, test cases, and acceptance criteria.
• Develop and maintain Python-based automated tests and reusable test libraries.
• Design, configure, and troubleshoot test setups with instruments and power equipment.
• Evaluate system behavior under normal operation, limits, and fault conditions.
• Develop DVP&Rs using DFMEA inputs to address gaps in test coverage.
• Investigate failures with measurements and logs; collaborate on root-cause analysis.
• Develop and execute regression testing for firmware/hardware changes.
• Maintain traceability between requirements, tests, results, and defects.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers.
