Job summary

NVIDIA seeks a Senior System Software Engineer to develop low-level software for NVLink Fusion, spanning architecture through silicon bring-up. You will design kernel-mode drivers and embedded firmware, collaborating with GPU, ASIC, and firmware teams to deliver high-performance interconnects.

We require 5+ years in system software, strong C/C++, Python, and knowledge of OS kernels, device drivers, and memory I/O.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of relevant software, firmware, or systems development experience
• Strong programming skills in C and/or C++, with Python or a scripting language
• Experience with OS kernels, device drivers, embedded firmware, or high-speed interconnects
• Solid understanding of computer architecture, memory-mapped I/O, interrupts, DMA, concurrency
• Experience debugging complex systems with logs, traces, or hardware diagnostics
• Experience in software engineering practices: design, peer review, testing, release management, maintenance
• Experience collaborating with hardware teams during pre-silicon bring-up and platform validation
• Strong communication and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain NVLink Fusion features across low-level software layers
• Drive product lifecycle features from requirements to production support
• Develop unit, integration, and system-level tests and automation
• Debug complex hardware, firmware, kernel, and system-level issues
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to validate NVLink Fusion platforms
• Develop production software in C and C++
• Lead and participate in design and code reviews to improve quality
