Job summary

NVIDIA is seeking a hands-on System Software Engineer for the Autonomous Vehicles Platform team. You will work on our AV platform software to create performant, scalable data collection and fleet tooling across sensor suites such as Cameras, LIDAR, RADAR, GPS, IMU, and CAN.

You’ll contribute to platform and middleware across multi-computer architectures, collaborating with teams spanning platform, embedded software and cloud infrastructure to advance autonomous driving technology.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• 8+ years of professional system software experience
• Excellent programming skills in C++, C and Python
• Familiarity with source control tools
• Solid understanding of Linux, QNX, ROS, and/or RTOS
• Experience in developing user-space system software, with willingness to delve into kernel-space
• Knowledge of embedded system programming, threading, mutexes, synchronization, and parallel computing
• Familiarity with CPU/GPU memory architecture and performance
• Experience in Autonomous Vehicles, Robotics, Self-Driving Cars, GPU tech, Embedded Systems, Computer Vision

Responsibilities

• Integrating sensors into the AV driving software stack
• Developing and improving startup user experience of the AV stack
• Working on sensor abstraction layers, data processing and performance optimization, data serialization, and service frameworks
• Collaborate with hardware, platform software, product, safety, performance, algorithms and cloud teams
