Job summary

Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Staff System Safety Engineer to lead discipline philosophy across product lines and drive enterprise-wide improvements in safety methodologies. You will guide complex safety analyses, influence system architecture, and own corrective actions across multiple programs.

This role requires deep MIL-STD-882E knowledge and the ability to operate with executives and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of industry experience as a System Safety Engineer or equivalent
• B.S. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Systems Engineering, or equivalent
• Deep experience with safety-critical hardware and software in defense/aerospace
• Expert-level MIL-STD-882E knowledge and related safety standards
• Experience establishing System Safety frameworks across multiple products
• Expert in FTA, FHA, SCFTA, and FMECA
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance

Responsibilities

• Define System Safety methodology org-wide across product lines
• Lead System Safety across multiple programs, resolving cross-program conflicts
• Drive multi-year enterprise initiatives to scale System Safety
• Architect safety program plans aligned with MIL-STD-882E and customer needs
• Provide expert direction on FHA, FTA, SCFTA, FMECA analyses
• Influence architecture and design trades to achieve Design for Safety
• Establish hazard management standards and risk mitigation frameworks
• Own complex safety actions from RCCA investigations and Mishap Reports
• Develop System Safety processes and reports for Design, Manufacturing, Deployment
