Job summary

Anduril Industries in Mountain View, CA seeks an experienced System Safety Engineer to drive system-level safety decisions across products and platforms. You will apply advanced analysis techniques, influence design trades, and lead complex failure investigations with cross-functional teams including Reliability, Systems Engineering, and Hardware/Software groups.

You will develop safety requirements, document hazards, and manage risk with rigorous adherence to MIL-STD-882E and related standards.

Qualifications

• Requires 5+ years as a System Safety Engineer or equivalent
• B.S. in mechanical/aerospace/systems engineering or equivalent
• Experience with safety-critical hardware/software in defense/aerospace
• Familiarity with MIL-STD-882E and related standards
• Strong safety analysis skills: FTA, FHA, SCFTA, FMECA

Responsibilities

• Execute System Safety program plans aligned with MIL-STD-882E and program requirements
• Conduct safety analyses such as FHA, FTA, SCFTA, FMECA at system and sub-system levels
• Develop safety requirements and collaborate with design teams
• Identify hazards, document risks, and track risk mitigation actions
• Support the Design Requirements Process to ensure safety best practices
• Support milestone reviews (PDR, CDR, QDR) for System Safety
• Lead corrective actions from RCCA investigations and Mishap Reports
• Verify risk and hazard reduction measures and ensure regulatory compliance
• Liaise with stakeholders and support customer engagements as needed
• Drive continuous improvement in System Safety processes and methodologies
• Ensure compliance with military and industry safety standards
