Job summary

Infineon Technologies in El Segundo, CA seeks a Principal System Application Engineer to bridge customers and engineering for AI datacenter power solutions. You will mentor teams, provide application support, and travel about 25% to engage with customers, partners, and sites.

Qualifications

• Lead end-to-end development of isolated/non-isolated DC/DC power converters.
• Define and optimize converter topologies; select power semiconductors (Si, GaN).
• Implement and tune digital & analog controllers and gate drivers.
• Use industry-standard simulation and PCB design tools; produce clear documentation.
• Ensure safety and EMI compliance; drive verification and certification readiness.
• Mentor teammates and communicate effectively in English.
• Partner with customers and cross-functional teams on power systems.

Responsibilities

• Execute the system solution roadmap to position Infineon as a leader in AI datacenter solutions, delivering notes, boards, diagrams and models.
• Lead design and validation of high-density AI accelerator power electronics with DC-DC converters and fast transient response.
• Prototype advanced DC/DC approaches using resonant topologies and GaN/SiC devices for AI infrastructure.
• Define system architectures for server power supplies and perform teardowns to identify gaps.
• Create technical value propositions and collateral; drive concept verification and support.
• Deliver trainings and collaborate with Marketing on system positioning and web content.
• Provide inputs to RFIs/RFQs and contribute to features for digital/analog controllers; travel ~25%.
