Job summary

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Staff/Sr. Staff System FPGA Engineer to implement RTL designs for control-plane and telemetry systems on server reference platforms. You will work with cross-functional teams across RTL, verification, software, and hardware, contributing to lab bring-up and architectural feedback.

The role emphasizes hands-on FPGA development, verification, and design automation using Python and cocotb, with travel to collaborate with suppliers and customers as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of FPGA implementation and verification experience.
• Experience with high-speed interfaces such as PCIe, DDR5, I2C, UART, AXI4.

Responsibilities

• Implement RTL designs based on defined system architectures, translating specifications into synthesizable HDL.
• Develop test benches and verification plans for FPGA designs.
• Perform FPGA synthesis, place-and-route, and timing closure using vendor toolchains.
• Test and debug FPGA designs in the lab with JTAG, logic analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
• Develop Python-based scripts and cocotb test benches to support automation and testing.
• Maintain and contribute to source-controlled design repositories using git and GitHub.
