Job summary

Leidos is seeking a System Engineer in Norfolk, VA to support the DISA Platform & Core Services team. The role involves designing, planning, and deploying complex virtual and physical server infrastructures in a Windows environment, with emphasis on integration, security, and performance across LAN/WAN architectures.

The engineer will create documentation, perform system analyses, and contribute to modernization efforts while ensuring STIG compliance and robust incident response capabilities.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II or III cert (Security+ CE, VMware VCP, Linux/Windows Server cert) required before start.
• Active DoD Secret clearance required.
• BS with 4–8 years of relevant experience or MS with 2–6 years; degree substitutions considered.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement complex integrated total systems configuration for virtual appliances and physical hardware builds, installs and upgrades.
• Provide technical review and lead hardware LCR recommendations for procurement evolutions.
• Coordinate ECRB/CAB documentation and brief the board on technical details, requirements and milestones.
• Conduct system analysis and market research; present white papers to guide modernization efforts.
• Create multi-layered optimization plans for vSphere/Horizon enterprise environments and maintain SOPs.
