Franklin Fitch is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to design, implement, and support IT infrastructure across client environments. You will manage Microsoft technologies, virtualisation platforms, and networking, while leading projects and mentoring junior engineers.

You will collaborate directly with clients to capture requirements, propose solutions, and ensure effective delivery, documentation, and post‑implementation support.

Formación

• 5+ years IT experience in MSP/IT services
• Strong hands-on with Windows Server, AD, M365
• Experience managing virtualised envs with VMware or Hyper-V
• Solid networking knowledge: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, VPNs
• Experience configuring/troubleshooting firewalls and network security
• Proven experience with infrastructure projects, server migrations and backup/recovery
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and manage multiple priorities
• Exposure to Azure, AWS, Fortinet or relevant certifications advantageous

We are working with an established IT services organisation looking to add an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to its technical team.

What You'll Do

• Design, implement and support IT infrastructure across multiple client environments.
• Manage Microsoft technologies, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365 and Azure.
• Deploy, maintain and troubleshoot virtualisation platforms such as VMware vSphere and Hyper‑V.
• Support networking infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, routers, wireless networks and VPNs.
• Lead infrastructure projects, including server migrations, system upgrades, backup solutions and disaster recovery.
• Act as a senior escalation point for complex technical issues, providing guidance and mentorship to other engineers.
• Work directly with clients to understand their requirements, recommend solutions and improve existing environments.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and ensure projects are delivered effectively.

What You'll Need

• 5+ years of IT experience, ideally within a Managed Service Provider (MSP) or IT services environment.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365 and related Microsoft technologies.
• Experience managing virtualised environments using VMware or Hyper‑V.
• Solid networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing and VPNs.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting firewalls and network security solutions.
• Proven experience with infrastructure projects, server migrations and backup/recovery solutions.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across servers, networking and cloud environments.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence working directly with clients.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and mentor less experienced engineers.
• Exposure to Azure, AWS, Fortinet or relevant technical certifications would be advantageous.
