Our customer, a leading alternative asset management firm, is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support and enhance a hybrid enterprise infrastructure spanning both Microsoft Azure cloud and on-premises environments. This hands-on role is responsible for Tier III infrastructure support, systems administration, automation, and infrastructure improvement initiatives while partnering with internal IT teams to ensure a secure, scalable, and reliable technology environment. This is a hybrid position requiring four days onsite in Radnor, PA and remote work on Fridays.
Responsibilities
- Provide Tier III support for enterprise infrastructure, troubleshooting and resolving complex systems, server, and cloud-related issues.
- Administer and maintain Microsoft Azure, Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, virtualization platforms, and hybrid cloud environments.
- Support infrastructure improvement projects, system upgrades, migrations, and automation initiatives using PowerShell.
- Monitor, maintain, and optimize enterprise infrastructure performance, availability, and security.
- Configure and support core infrastructure services including DNS, DHCP, virtualization, and identity management.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and DevOps teams on enterprise technology initiatives.
- Assist with security monitoring and incident response utilizing Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender, and enterprise monitoring tools.
- Provide technical mentorship and support to junior team members while assisting with occasional escalated desktop and end-user support issues.
- Document infrastructure configurations, procedures, and technical solutions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on Systems Engineering or Infrastructure Engineering experience in medium-to-large enterprise environments.
- Strong experience administering Microsoft Azure, Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and hybrid cloud infrastructure.
- Advanced PowerShell scripting and automation experience.
- Experience providing Tier III infrastructure support and troubleshooting complex enterprise systems.
- Strong knowledge of DNS, DHCP, virtualization technologies (VMware or equivalent), and enterprise systems administration.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills with the ability to work independently.
- Experience with Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender, Azure DevOps, Kubernetes, MSSQL, and enterprise monitoring tools is preferred.
- Prior consulting experience and a strong desire to learn and work across a broad range of infrastructure technologies are highly valued.
