Job summary

NVIDIA in Hillsboro, OR is seeking a Senior System Designer to lead datacenter system architecture from chip to full datacenter deployments. You will collaborate across silicon, software, networking, and operations to design high‑performance, power‑aware server solutions.

The role requires 8+ years in complex product systems and deep hardware knowledge, with a focus on multi‑layer boards, mechanical/power/thermal integration, and scalable datacenter deployments. An MS or higher is preferred.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience working in complex product systems.
  • Understanding of how to design high speed multi‑layer product boards.
  • Deep understanding of hardware architectures and server builds, including mechanical, power, and thermal aspects, and their interaction with at‑scale datacenter deployment.
  • Hands‑on experience solving challenging problems that span both software and hardware.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to lead multi‑discipline teams.
  • Positive and dogged mindset to tackle complicated issues and a constant desire to learn and to teach.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields, or equivalent experience. An MS degree or comparable experience is preferred

  • Drive architecture for datacenter systems from chip to full datacenter.
  • Collaborate with silicon, software, networking, operations, and other teams to build cutting edge products.
  • Analyze performance, power, and cost of different solutions to inform project decisions.
  • Guide product teams with direction by integrating lessons from other products and developing new solutions.
  • Collaborate with NVIDIA’s key customers and system development partners while developing our products.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and procurement teams to ensure industry roadmaps are aligned to our needs.
  • Work across engineering and operations teams to define and execute systems from concept through large production deployments.
  • Monitor competitive solutions to keep track of industry developments and trends.

Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The base salary range is 168,000 USD - 258,750 USD.

You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.
