Innovative Computer Solutions Group, Inc is seeking experienced software engineers to develop system designs and implement solutions that meet complex security and performance requirements. You will create database and network configurations, document procedures, and collaborate with managers and engineers to plan and deploy system enhancements.
The role covers front- and back-end web development, data analysis, and technical documentation across diverse environments including mainframe and PCs.
CAPS is a Federal requirement and HRA is primarily responsible for its development. CAPS is the primary system of HRA’s Coordinated Entry unit for its day-to-day operations, identifying and facilitating housing opportunities for the City’s most vulnerable populations experiencing homelessness. CAPS is essential for NYC’s homeless shelters, street outreach teams, supportive housing providers and many other external stakeholders as the primary tool to assess clients for potential housing eligibility.
Develop system design specifications
Develops and prepares documents for the general design of solutions that meet system and security requirements, including the selection of alternative approaches.
Develops specifications for databases, communication systems, hardware, network, security, storage and software configurations.
Develops structured diagrams for the specifications of databases, communication systems, computer or storage area networks, security or network programs.
Develops, compiles, maintains and documents configurations of the following: databases, servers, computers, security and network monitor systems, packaged programs, macros, utilities, and communication systems.
Develop system documentation
Develop operational and installation procedures for communication systems, hardware, network, security, storage and software.
Develop guidelines and upgrade techniques of new operational procedures for the support of databases, hardware systems, operating systems software, network systems software, security and client server systems.
Develop detailed systems operations designs.
Perform System Design/
Work with staff (e.g, managers, senior programmers, support staff, product manager) to plan program systems implementation, enhancements and changes
Create, test and maintain program systems
Design reports, audit trails/logs, security mechanisms
Provide assistance to technical support staff when they are unable to resolve a program, database, or IT issue by themselves
Occasionally contact customers as may be needed to clarify the intent of a new feature or resolve a problem
Provide general programming assistance to other programmers/projects as may be needed.
