Job summary

J&T Business Consulting seeks a Mid/Sr System Administrator to support a large, distributed network in Annapolis, MD. You will manage Windows and Linux environments across air-gapped enclaves, deploying patches, ensuring security, and maintaining uptime while coordinating with leadership and end users.

The role requires active TS/SCI with Polygraph, a Bachelor's in a technical field, and 8+ years of relevant experience, including virtualization and enterprise tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Management or related field plus 8+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience.
• Experience with Windows Server 2019, Active Directory, and foundational knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
• Hands-on experience with client/server virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware).

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux server/desktop configurations across air-gapped enclaves.
• Administer and troubleshoot web-based information sharing and storage environments.
• Manage Active Directory, domain services, group policies, certificates, and access controls.
• Perform vulnerability management, patching, and security hardening using automated tools.
• Handle virtualization management, VM provisioning, and hardware reimaging/troubleshooting.
• Document server and network architectures to enable rapid incident response.
• Communicate system status and outages to stakeholders and leadership.
• Support short travel and handle physical equipment up to 50 lbs.
