Job summary

J&T Business Consulting in Annapolis, MD, seeks a Mid/Sr System Administrator with active TS/SCI clearance to support distributed air-gapped enclaves. You will deploy, patch, and secure Windows and Linux servers, manage AD, and optimize virtualization and storage environments to ensure uptime.

Responsibilities include vulnerability management, automation with SaltStack/Ansible, and documenting architectures for rapid incident response. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Management, or related field plus 8+ years of relevant systems administration experience, OR Equivalent combination of additional years of hands-on technical experience substituting for the degree.
• Proficiency with Windows Server 2019, Active Directory, and foundational knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
• Hands-on experience administering client and server virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware).
• Familiarity with enterprise monitoring, automation, and security tools (e.g., SaltStack, Ansible, Splunk, Puppet, SolarWinds, Nessus).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, optimize, and maintain Windows and Linux server/desktop configurations across air-gapped enclaves.
• Administer, sustain, and troubleshoot web-based information sharing and storage application environments.
• Manage Active Directory, domain services, group policies, certificate renewals, and access controls.
• Conduct system scanning, vulnerability management, patching, and mitigation using automated tools.
• Perform virtualization management, VM provisioning, and hardware reimaging/troubleshooting.
• Maintain documentation of server and network architectures for rapid incident response.
• Communicate system status and maintenance with end users and leadership.
• Support occasional short-duration travel and handle physical equipment up to 50 lbs.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Management, or related technical discipline
