Amentum seeks a Staff System Administrator to join a critical IT program in Warrenton, VA. You will administer Windows server environments, manage virtualization, and implement backups and DR plans to ensure secure, reliable operations.

Qualifications

• Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
• 4+ years of Information Technology experience.
• Experience administering enterprise software deployments using MECM.
• Hands-on with Windows Server 2019, Citrix Virtual Desktop, VMware ESXi, Active Directory, DHCP.
• Strong Group Policy and PowerShell skills.
• VMware vCenter/vSAN and Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure experience.
• Solid networking fundamentals and DR planning experience.
• Ability to travel up to 40% within the continental US.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Windows server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
• Manage and support virtualization platforms such as VMware and Hyper-V.
• Monitor system performance, review security logs, and apply critical updates and patches.
• Implement robust backup strategies and disaster recovery solutions.
• Ensure systems comply with organizational policies and security standards.
• Configure IP addressing, subnetting, and VLAN configurations.
• Collaborate with network engineers to diagnose LAN/WAN/Wi‑Fi issues.
• Monitor DNS/DHCP services to ensure consistent functionality.
• Review firewall rules to support secure Windows server access.
• Plan and deploy VPNs, remote access, and network segmentation strategies.
• Troubleshoot domain name resolution and authentication issues.
• Serve as primary contact for customer issues; maintain accounts and improve service processes.
• Provide multi-channel support (email, phone, remote) for timely resolutions.
• Document lifecycle tracking of network systems; ensure disposal protocols for sensitive assets.
• Utilize tools to deliver remote support and minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate incident records and escalate as needed.
• Administer MECM deployments for secure automated app rollouts; train end-users and share updates with leadership.
• Continuously research emerging technologies to stay current.
