Job summary

Prime Electric is seeking a System Administrator to design and optimize IT infrastructure across offices and jobsites. You’ll influence operations, risk posture, and reliability by delivering secure, scalable environments while advising leaders on infrastructure solutions.

With 5+ years in system admin roles and strong networking knowledge, you’ll manage servers, AD/ DNS, VPNs, and security tools. This role is in-person, onsite, with travel to local sites.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a System Administrator or similar role.
• Enterprise-level networking experience is required.
• Strong knowledge of networking, OS, hardware, and security best practices.
• Proven troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Preferred: PowerShell scripting and SQL experience; Microsoft 365, Intune, WatchGuard, Nutanix AHV.
• Experience with Cisco IOS or Dell OS10; cloud identity management, EDR, SIEM, SOAR.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage, support, monitor, secure, and maintain LANs/WANs across offices and jobsites.
• Install, configure, and maintain servers, cloud services, Windows Server, and enterprise hardware.
• Administer Microsoft Server/Client services including AD/DHCP/DNS/GPO.
• Design, deploy, and support network infrastructure including VPNs and firewalls.
• Troubleshoot complex issues while maintaining security and uptime.
• Administer desktops, laptops, mobiles, printers, and peripherals.
• Enforce system standards and lifecycle management to support objectives.
• Evaluate technologies, vendors, and solutions based on needs, cost, risk.
• Assess infrastructure risks and mitigation strategies with minimal oversight.
• Collaborate with IT teammates on projects and improvements.
• Take ownership of responsibilities and contribute to project documentation and training.
