Job summary

V2X is seeking a System Administrator III to lead a global team, deploying and securing hybrid IT infrastructure across multiple sites. The role emphasizes Linux/Unix and Windows administration, automation, and strong security posture.

The candidate will implement SCAP/STIG-based remediation, coordinate incident response with SOC, and ensure regulatory compliance. A Secret clearance is implied by the project scope and requires U.S. citizenship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ years in system administration with progressive responsibilities.
• Experience coordinating and guiding a team of system admins, including remote teams.
• Ability to design, automate, and secure hybrid IT infrastructure across physical and virtual environments.
• Strong troubleshooting, incident response, and root cause analysis capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Select, source, and install hardware and software for ongoing operations.
• Architect, deploy, and manage a hybrid IT infra spanning physical and virtual environments (Linux/Unix and Windows).
• Automate using Python, Bash, and PowerShell.
• Use Ansible, Puppet, or Chef to optimize performance and operations.
• Manage network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and secure remote access.
• Oversee virtualization and container orchestration as needed.
• Design backup, disaster recovery, and monitoring solutions for continuity and compliance.
• Collaborate with SOC to improve incident response procedures.
• Enforce security policies and compliance with frameworks (NIST, CIS, ISO 27001, STIGs, SCAP).
