Job summary

Fuse Engineering LLC is seeking a Linux systems administrator to support a mixed contractor/civilian SA team in a high-security environment. You will manage Linux systems, enforce DISA STIG compliance, and maintain virtualization platforms across a backend environment with authentication, DNS, and home directory services.

The role requires experience with Linux administration, virtualization, and networking, with a focus on security and incident response.

Qualifications

• Experience administering Linux systems and applying DISA STIG compliance.
• Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, KVM, Proxmox).
• Knowledge of IP networking and firewalls.
• Familiarity with containers/cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Monitor systems, review monitoring dashboards, and respond to mission-critical updates via team chat and Jira.
• Triage and resolve tickets for Linux-based environments on the backend.
• Assist with authentication, DNS, and handling shares and home directories for users.

Description

You will work on a 7–9-person mixed Contractor/Civilian SA team supporting 3rd party systems.

• All supported systems are Linux hard boxes or VM’s.
• You will come in look at your monitoring, catch up on emails and your team Skype chat room for mission critical updates and hot issues then go to JIRA and start working off tickets.
• The team supports a backend environment with Mission and Operations users and desktops so authentication, DNS, share drives and home directories.

Required Skills

• LINUX Administration.
• Solid experience with STE/STN, DISA STIG compliance work on Linux systems.
• Virtualization (VMWare, RH KVM, Proxmox ….)
• Ip networking and Firewall exp.
• Some experience with Containers/Cloud environments.

Desired Skills

• Automation tools (Ansible, salt ..).
• Scripting (bash, python, perl ..).
• Storage Management solutions / arrays (NetApp, Isilon ….)
• Hyper Converged Infrastructure exp (Harvester, Nutanix, Cisco HyperFlex…)
