Job summary

3M HEALTHCARE is seeking a Senior System Administrator in Tucson, AZ to manage Windows and Linux environments, AD, VMware and backup technologies. The role requires U.S. citizenship and an active Secret clearance. On-site 3rd shift with potential overtime and up to 10% travel.

You will install, configure, troubleshoot, document processes, and collaborate with cybersecurity for secure operations 24x7.

Qualifications

• University Degree or equivalent plus at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with Linux or Windows.
• Experience with Active Directory, VMware, backup and recovery.

Responsibilities

• Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Redhat Enterprise Linux environment.
• Maintain Windows Server and Linux fundamentals, including DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication.
• Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of moderate to high scope, including hardware & OS integration.
• Understand data RAID, backup technologies, and implement them.
• Install and configure software applications requested by end users.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity professionals to keep security requirements met.
• Document and train on advanced IT processes and procedures.
• Support systems operating 24x7; occasionally work beyond standard hours.
• Travel up to 10% per year to other domestic locations as needed.

Senior System Administrator – Tucson, AZ

Location: Tucson, AZ – 1151 E Hermans Rd – BLDG 848.

U.S. citizenship is required and an active Secret clearance is mandatory.

Onsite position. 3rd shift: Monday–Friday, 11:00 PM – 8:00 AM (12% shift differential). 100% on‑site support and occasional overtime.

What You Will Do

• Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Redhat Enterprise Linux environment.

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• DoDD 8140 / 8570 Certification, e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent OS certification.
• Experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS, DoD/RMF.
• Experience with NAS, SAN technologies and solutions.
• Experience with IT project lifecycle management.
• Experience with VMWare vCenter, vSphere, ESX or other virtual computing methods.
• Experience supporting engineers in software, simulations, and hardware development.
• Experience with Microsoft WSUS, MECM, and/or Exchange.
• High Performance Computing (HPC) experience in a Linux environment.
• Scripting experience.

Benefits and Compensation

• Salary range: $68,900 – $131,100 USD (based on experience).
