Job summary

Foxconn Industrial Internet - FII is seeking an experienced IT System Administrator in Sunnyvale, CA. You will manage servers, virtualization platforms, and security, while supporting audits and cloud integration.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in IT, strong virtualization and Windows/Linux expertise, and Microsoft 365 administration proficiency. Shift duties may apply; on-site role.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of IT and system administration experience.
• Expertise in virtualization (VMware ESXi 7+, Proxmox, or Hyper-V).
• Strong Windows Server 2016+ experience.
• Rocky Linux server administration expertise.
• Hardware, software, and user issue troubleshooting.
• Experience with storage networks and cabling preferred.
• Cybersecurity-focused to prevent DoS and protect systems.
• Microsoft 365 administration expertise is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform server administration: users/groups, security, GPOs, print services, monitoring.
• Monitor VMware datacenter health; respond to hardware issues; assist in server builds.
• Maintain internal infrastructure: servers, printers, updates, antivirus, patching.
• Conduct vulnerability scans and penetration tests.
• Provide level 2 IT support and troubleshoot with teams.
• Audit systems; verify backups on a routine basis.
• Represent IT during audits (e.g., ISO 27001).
• Manage Microsoft 365; integrate on-prem DC to the cloud.

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Perform server administration tasks, including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, print services, research event log warnings and errors, and resource monitoring to ensure seamless integration of system architecture components.
• Monitor VMware datacenter health using pre-existing management tools, respond to hardware issues, and assist in building, testing, and maintaining new servers as necessary.
• Maintain internal infrastructure, including servers, printers, security updates, antivirus, and patch management console.
• Conduct vulnerability scans and penetration tests to assess system security.
• Serve as level 2 support, collaborating with IT Admin and other teams to troubleshoot, identify root causes, and provide technical support when required.
• Perform routine/scheduled audits of systems, including verifying backups.
• Represent the IT department during audits such as ISO 27001 or others as applicable
• Microsoft 365 management, integrate the on-prem DC to the cloud

Skills/Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in IT and System Administration management.
• Expertise in VMware ESXi 7+, Proxmox, or Hyper-V (advanced to expert level).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Server 2016+ (advanced to expert level).
• Strong knowledge of Rocky Linux Server (advanced to expert level).
• Skilled in troubleshooting hardware, software, and user issues.
• Preferred experience in cabling and infrastructure setup.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Experience with storage area network devices.
• Cybersecurity-oriented mindset to prevent denial of service attacks and ensure robust system protection.
• Microsoft 365 administration (Expert is a must)

Educational Requirements:

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field.
• Any IT infrastructure certifications are a plus (e.g., CompTIA, VMware, Microsoft, Cisco, etc.)

Shift:

• From 12 pm - 9 pm or 1 pm - 10 pm
