Job summary

ASEC is seeking a Senior System Administrator to support DoD classified networks within the Navy’s LVC training environment at NAS Oceana Dam Neck Annex, VA (with relocation to Lexington Park, MD possible). You will oversee Windows/Linux servers, virtualization, storage, DR, and security hardening to ensure mission readiness during high‑tempo exercises.

Qualifications

• 7 years of DoD classified networks system administrator experience required (bachelor’s in STEM may substitute).
• Experience administering virtualized environments using VMware/Hyper‑V, including provisioning, maintenance and performance optimization.
• Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining enterprise server infra, storage, backups, and mission‑critical apps in classified/unclassified environments.
• Experience implementing RMF, STIGs, and vulnerability remediation best practices.
• Experience supporting distributed/enterprise environments with high availability and rapid restoration of services.
• Experience with DoD/Navy/NAVAIR systems, simulation, modeling, training, or mission support is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Administer Windows and Linux servers in support of simulation, modeling, training, and mission planning apps.
• Manage VMware, Hyper‑V, or cloud virtualization environments.
• Maintain enterprise storage, backups, and disaster recovery capabilities.
• Perform system patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
• Install and maintain simulation software and supporting middleware.
• Support distributed training environments connecting multiple sites.
• Configure and maintain application servers for LVC exercises.
• Ensure systems are synchronized and configured for large‑scale events.
• Implement and maintain RMF controls and STIG compliance.
• Conduct vulnerability remediation and security hardening.
• Provide operational support during major exercises and training events.
