Job summary

Supermicro is seeking an experienced Sr. Software Engineer - Switch Design to lead the design and development of high-performance networking software for our next-generation data center platforms, focusing on SONiC-based operating systems and integration with Broadcom, Marvell, and other networking ASICs.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science or related STEM field.
• 8+ years of software development in networking or system software.
• Strong programming in C/C++ and/or Go.
• Experience with L2/L3 networking and related protocols.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize software modules, drivers, and APIs for high-performance forwarding and control planes.
• Define the software architecture integrating SONiC with hardware platform infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain interfaces for telemetry, diagnostics, and system management.
• Lead optimization of system performance, power efficiency, and resource utilization.
• Mentor engineers across software, hardware, and QA teams.
• Collaborate with product, hardware, and platform teams to align requirements.
