Job summary

The engineer will design software modules, contribute to architecture, and mentor teams across software, hardware, and QA while collaborating with product and platform groups to deliver scalable, reliable solutions.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science, or related STEM field.
• 2+ years of software development experience in networking or system software.
• Strong programming skills in Python/C/C++ and/or Go.
• Expertise in data structures, algorithms, and software design.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize software modules, drivers, and APIs for high-performance forwarding and control planes.
• Define software architecture integrating SONiC with Supermicro hardware infrastructure for scalability and reliability.
• Develop and maintain interfaces for telemetry, diagnostics, and system management.
• Lead optimization of system performance, power efficiency, and resource utilization.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers across software, hardware, and QA teams.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration with product, hardware, and platform teams to align requirements and deliverables.
• Engage with the open-source SONiC community—contribute upstream, review patches, and align with community direction.
• Evaluate and adopt emerging tools and methodologies to accelerate development and testing cycles.

Job Summary

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Design and optimize critical software modules, drivers, and APIs for high‑performance forwarding and control planes.
• Define the software architecture integrating SONiC with Supermicro’s hardware platform infrastructure to ensure scalability, reliability, and high availability.
• Develop and maintain robust interfaces for telemetry, diagnostics, and system management.
• Lead optimization of system performance, power efficiency, and resource utilization.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers across software, hardware, and QA teams.
• Drive cross‑functional collaboration with product, hardware, and platform teams to align on requirements and deliverables.
• Engage with the open‑source SONiC community—contribute upstream, review patches, and align development with community direction.

Salary Range

$128,000 - $142,000. The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
