Job summary

Supermicro is seeking an experienced Sr. Software Engineer - Switch Design to lead the design and development of high-performance networking software for data center platforms. You will work on SONiC-based OS and integration with leading networking ASICs.

The role emphasizes software architecture, performance optimization, telemetry, and cross-functional collaboration with product, hardware, and QA teams. BS/MS in CS and 8+ years in networking software are required; familiarity with Broadcom,

Qualifications

BS/MS in Computer Science or related STEM field.
8+ years of software development in networking or system software.
Strong programming in C/C++ and/or Go; solid data structures and algorithms.
Experience with L2/L3 networking concepts and networking protocols.

Responsibilities

Design and optimize software modules, drivers, and APIs for high-performance forwarding and control planes.
Define software architecture integrating SONiC with hardware platform infrastructure for scalability and reliability.
Develop interfaces for telemetry, diagnostics, and system management.
Lead performance and power optimizations; mentor engineers across teams.
Collaborate with product, hardware, and platform teams to align requirements.
Engage with the SONiC open-source community and review patches.
Evaluate new tools and methodologies to accelerate development and testing.
