Job summary

BCI Brands in New York seeks a sweater technical designer to translate concepts into production-ready tech packs and ensure precise garment construction and fit. You will collaborate with designers, pattern makers, and manufacturers to meet quality standards across domestic and international partners.

The role requires 5+ years in knitwear tech design, strong yarn knowledge, and proficiency with Illustrator, Photoshop, and Centric PLM to optimize development and production timelines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a technical designer in knitwear.
• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion or Textile Design or related field.
• Strong knowledge of yarn properties, sweater construction and garment fit.
• Experience creating/updating tech packs and using Illustrator/Photoshop.

Responsibilities

• Create and review technical packages for sweater designs with specs.
• Conduct fit sessions and provide feedback for proper fit and construction.
• Collaborate with domestic and international manufacturers on tech issues.
• Review pre-production and production samples for consistency.
• Apply knowledge of yarns and knitting to optimize production.
• Resolve technical issues with cross-functional teams to meet deadlines.
• Work with design team to ensure alignment with creative vision.
• Maintain records of specs, fit comments, and revisions.
