Job summary

Estes Express is seeking a Sustainability Project Manager II to support sustainability programs, manage reporting, and lead key projects across the organization. You will collaborate with the Office of Sustainability and other departments to track progress, maintain data quality, and communicate results to executives and partners.

The role requires a BA/BS in environmental science or related field, at least 3 years in project management with a focus on sustainability, and strong writing,

Qualifications

• BA or BS degree in Environmental Science preferred or any combination of education and technical experience which would provide an equivalent background.
• 3 years of project management or equivalent experience required, experience in the area of Sustainability preferred, with at least 2 of those years in the transportation industry required.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite; computer mainframe experience is required. Expertise in Word, PowerPoint and Excel required.
• Experience with Teamwork or other Project Management tools preferred
• Strong analytical ability and demonstrated experience using data to develop strategies
• High critical-thinking skills and ability to position messaging with appropriate methods to engage a variety of audiences required

Responsibilities

• Ensure understanding and maintenance of sustainability platform data and reporting requirements; identify data issues and coordinate with OOS/STF teams for accurate data.
• Routinely research and stay updated on regulatory ESG requirements and reporting; coordinate with departments to maintain basic compliance information.
• Manage corrective action plans for external ratings/organizations and maintain relationships with sustainability partners.
• Collaborate with Office of Sustainability leadership and other departments to log and manage customer requests.
• Create and manage project objectives with milestones, success criteria, and deliverables for projects such as Sustainability Report.
• Develop communications for KPIs and measured results for stakeholders and partners.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation for schedules, budgets, and reports.
• Use project management tools to monitor projects, schedules, deliverables, risks, deadlines, and budgets.
• Compile information and prepare moderately complex reports with charts/graphs/tables for reports or presentations.
• Lead meetings: agendas, preparation, notes, and follow-up deliverables.
• Evaluate project performance to derive best practices and lessons learned; implement improvements.
• Regular attendance is required.
