Job summary

Cordoba Corporation in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Senior Project Engineer (Sustainability) to support bond-eligible capital construction and sustainability projects. The role emphasizes planning, design, construction, commissioning, and project management under the client’s Bond Program, excluding routine M&O work.

Preferred credentials include PE or CCM, with experience in sustainability projects such as energy systems, LED lighting, and central plant decarbonization.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical and engineering support to the client's PMO and project managers.
• Coordinates with PMO staff, CPTs, contractors, architects and engineers.
• Attends design or construction meetings and may lead them.
• Performs field checks to ensure compliance with plans and DS A requirements.
• Reads and interprets construction plans and shop drawings.
• Assists in preparing correspondence, reports, procedures, and guidelines.
• Supports weekly/monthly status and photo reports for the project team.
• Reviews and negotiates construction change orders and field orders.
• Reviews contracts and enforces terms with vendors and consultants.
• Manages contractors and external consultants; reviews invoices.
• Assesses project risks and develops risk registers with mitigation.
• Facilitates resolutions of construction and design issues.
• Coordinates with architects for timely responses to RFIs and submittals.
• Generates meeting minutes for various meetings.
• Ensures maintenance of record drawings prior to progress payments.
• Maintains project files in electronic and paper format.
• Reviews submittals for conformance to plans and specs.
• Prepares scope of work documents and status reports for solicitations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
