Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Senior Surveyor to oversee and coordinate project survey and layout requirements. You will supervise field teams, interface with contractors, and ensure accuracy relative to design intent while driving safety and quality on site.

The role requires at least five years of survey experience and a background in construction surveying, with a preference for a Professional Land Surveyor license. Travel is required and the position is based in the Phoenix area.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering or Civil Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of five years survey experience.
• PLS license preferred.
• Driver’s license is required.
• Proficiency with Bentley Inroads, Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center.

Responsibilities

• Oversee project survey operations in construction survey.
• Interface with contractors and trades to ensure work accuracy relative to design intent.
• Manage quality control of self-performed and subcontracted work.
• Build cross-cultural relationships and resolve conflicts appropriately.
• Promote a culture of safety on the project site.
• Liaise between field engineers and contractors to ensure compliance with drawings and specs.
• Attend and participate in project meetings as required.
