Job summary

UTEC's Offshore United States project is seeking a Senior Surveyor to lead offshore survey operations on vessel platforms, ensuring safety, quality, and timely data delivery in line with client objectives. You will supervise field teams, coordinate mobilisations, and communicate with onshore management and client representatives.

Education in Geomatics or Surveying Science is required, with nominally 24 months of experience and at least 200 offshore days as Surveyor Grade I; military or academic

Responsibilities

• Ensure data collection, QC and distribution per project procedures and company procedures.
• Advise onshore management and client representatives when deviation from approved procedures is necessary.
• Compile operational/field reporting concisely per project procedures and client specifications.
• Complete final reporting and data transfer in line with project procedures and company procedures.
• Effectively communicate with client representatives and onshore team.
• Ensure offshore team understand roles and responsibilities.

The Senior Surveyor for Offshore United States is UTEC's senior representative on a watch reporting to Party Chief or senior representative on vessel and must ensure that all work is conducted in the best interests of UTEC and the Client. He/She must thoroughly understand work specifications, project requirements and client objectives, and is responsible for the safe, efficient and timely execution of, as well as Quality Assurance for the project.

Duties:

• Supervise survey operations ensuring safe working practices at all times and with due regard to contractual requirements, scope of work, procedures and regulations.
• Manage mobilisation and demobilisation activities with regard to safety of personnel and assets.
• Ensure all systems are functioning in compliance with contractual requirements, project procedures and company procedures to effectively conduct the scope of work.
• Ensure collection, collation, QC and distribution of all survey data relating to the scope of work as per project procedures and company procedures.
• Advise onshore management, company and client representatives when deviation from the approved procedure is necessary and record through the Management of Change Procedure.
• Compile operational / field reporting in a concise manner and in accordance with project procedures, client specifications and company procedures.
• Complete final reporting and data transfer / backup in accordance with accordance with project procedures, client specifications and company procedures.
• Effectively communicate with client representatives and company representatives onshore.
• Ensure all personnel in the offshore team understand their roles and responsibilities.
• Conduct personnel performance reviews/appraisals for your direct reports and provide specific performance data/feedback to supervisors of non-direct reports assigned to your projects.
• Perform other duties or tasks as assigned.
