Job summary

Timmons Group in Staunton, VA is seeking a Survey Technician/Senior Survey Technician to join our Survey Group at the Staunton office. The role focuses on drafting subdivision plats, boundary surveys, easement plats, parcel descriptions, staking maps, and topographic surveys for projects of varying complexity.

The ideal candidate has a degree in Land Surveying or Geomatics (or 3+ years of field experience) and proficiency with GPS; 3D laser scanning is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Associate degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, Geography, Geospatial Information Sciences or related field.
• Minimum of three years of progressive survey field experience.
• Experience working with GPS and 3D laser scanning is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Drafts subdivision plats, boundary surveys and easement plats.
• Prepares parcel descriptions and staking maps for subdivisions and site plans.
• Drafts topographical surveys and creates digital terrain models; prepares cutsheets and construction take-offs.
• Submits plats for jurisdictional approval and coordinates with project manager.
