Job summary

CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Survey Technician to join the Survey Geospatial Team in Columbia, SC. This role supports a diverse portfolio of infrastructure and development projects, providing technical expertise and delivering high-quality survey deliverables.

You will collaborate with experienced surveyors, engineers, and project managers to ensure project success, applying surveying standards, processing data, and creating accurate maps and documents for a range of field conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
• 7+ years of survey experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD; MicroStation/OpenRoads/Civil3D experience preferred.
• Strong communication and ability to work in a team environment.
• Knowledge of field survey operations, equipment, and data collection processes.

Responsibilities

• Apply field and office surveying standards to collect data and prepare survey plans and documents.
• Process field data with Land Development software to create DTMs/contours and mapping deliverables.
• Conduct boundary research and prepare boundary descriptions with precision.
• Perform survey computations, traversing, layout work, and map interpretation.
• Create and review sketches, CAD drawings, and related documentation.
