Job summary

Kiewit is hiring Survey Managers for its Heavy Civil Construction surveys in the Central US, leading teams on projects from $50M to $1B. You will ensure survey accuracy, safety, and efficiency while coordinating with engineering and construction teams to meet tight tolerances.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of field construction survey experience and leadership of Survey Crews.
• Proficiency with Trimble Access/Business Center is required.
• Proficiency with GPS, total stations, LiDAR, and drones for data collection.
• Must have prior experience as a Survey Manager in Construction Survey and advanced CAD experience (AutoCAD, Civil 3D or MicroStation) and GIS.
• Must be able to travel regionally and possess a valid driver’s license.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; PLS certification asset; we assist with certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead/Manage surveying operations for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Develop and implement surveying plans and best practices with project teams.
• Lead a team of surveyors, providing training and mentorship.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to ensure design-field alignment.
• Utilize GPS, total stations, LiDAR, and drones for data capture and analysis.
• Conduct quality control checks to verify survey accuracy.
• Manage survey data processing and BIM integration.
• Prepare and maintain detailed survey reports and logs.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and company standards, and safety requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve on-site survey challenges and adapt to conditions.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to align scope, schedule, and deliverables.
